These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of yusrrelief.org and related pages operated by Yusr Relief (“Yusr Relief,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) (the “Site”).

By using the Site or making a gift, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or donate through it.

Who we are

Yusr Relief is a U.S. charitable organization. We are a 501(c)(3) in formation. Until the IRS issues a determination letter, we cannot promise that your gift is tax-deductible. If recognition is granted, deductibility may apply to the extent allowed by law and may be retroactive to the application date — that is an IRS rule, not a promise by us. We do not give tax advice. Ask your own advisor. Keep your receipt.

What this Site is for

The Site is for information about our work and to help people give. It is not a crowdfunding marketplace and does not let the public create their own fundraising campaigns on our platform. Campaign pages, raised amounts, and stories describe need and progress. They are not a guarantee that a specific person will receive a specific item, or that a dollar goal will be met on a given date.

We may combine gifts, move funds among similar needs, update or close campaigns, and work with vetted partners to carry out relief, when circumstances change. We will not use restricted gifts for another purpose if you clearly restrict them in writing and we accept that restriction. If a campaign is overfunded, closed, or impractical, we may apply the remainder to similar relief work unless we have accepted a written restriction that forbids it.

Content may include photos and video from the field. We try to be accurate. We may correct errors. The Site may be unavailable at times. Field conditions change. Stories illustrate our work; they are not a contract to serve a named individual unless we say so in writing.

Changes to these Terms and to the Site

We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page. The date at the top will change. Continued use after a change is acceptance. If you donated under older terms, those terms still apply to that completed gift except where the law requires otherwise.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time. We may correct technical or typographical errors without prior notice.

Donations and payments

Zeffy (cards and digital wallets)

Online donations by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and similar methods are processed by Zeffy, a third-party platform. The form on /donate (or a campaign page) is Zeffy’s form, sometimes shown inside our page. When you complete that form:

The gift is to Yusr Relief, not to Zeffy.
You also agree to Zeffy’s Terms and Conditions of Use — Users and Zeffy’s Privacy Policy.
We do not collect or store your full card number on this website. Zeffy and its processors (including Stripe) do.
Zeffy may add an optional tip or platform contribution at checkout. That is Zeffy’s prompt, not a required fee from us. Read the checkout screen before you pay.
Recurring gifts continue until you cancel in the way Zeffy provides, or you email donate@ and we can help you stop them.
Zelle

If we publish Zelle details, that is an optional way to give through your bank. Confirm the recipient name and handle on this Site before you send. We are not responsible for money sent to the wrong person. Zelle transfers are typically final once your bank completes them. Zelle does not automatically issue our tax receipt — email donate@ with date, amount, and the name on the transfer if you need one.

Your authority to give

You represent that you have the legal right to use the payment method you choose and that the gift is voluntary. We may accept, refuse, or return a gift in our discretion (for example if we cannot legally accept it, suspect fraud, or cannot use it for our charitable purposes).

Email is not payment

Never send card numbers, bank passwords, or Zelle one-time codes by email. We will not ask you to do that.

Receipts

For Zeffy gifts, Zeffy generally emails a receipt. That receipt is the primary record of the transaction. For Zelle, ask us. A receipt is not tax advice and does not decide deductibility.

Refunds

Gifts are generally voluntary and non-refundable. We may refund or reverse a gift in our discretion if there was an obvious duplicate or processing error, if we cannot accept the gift, or if the payment network requires it. Chargebacks are handled under card-network rules; we will respond in good faith. Email donate@ promptly. Unauthorized or fraudulent use of a card must also be reported to your card issuer.

Use of funds

Unless you and we agree otherwise in writing, gifts support Yusr Relief’s charitable purposes as we reasonably determine, including the campaign you selected if it is still open and that use remains practical. We may work with partners to deliver aid. We aim to apply gifts toward stated purposes, but we cannot guarantee a specific project outcome or assume liability for third-party efforts we help fund.

Your responsibilities

You agree that you will not:

• Give with a payment method you are not authorized to use.
• Use the Site to harass, defraud, impersonate, or break the law.
• Probe, scan, or test the Site’s security; attempt unauthorized access; or impose an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
• Use scrapers, bots, or similar tools in an abusive way, harvest emails, or copy the Site as if it were yours.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works from the Site except as the law allows.
• Remove proprietary notices from materials you download for personal use.
• Frame the Site, deep-link in a misleading way, or present our pages as someone else’s.
• You may link to public pages of the Site in a fair, non-misleading way. You may download pages for personal, non-commercial use if you keep notices intact. Commercial use of our name, motto, or logo needs our written permission.

Content you send us

If you send photos, stories, or other materials, you confirm you have the right to send them and you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use them to operate and describe our work, unless we agree otherwise in writing. We may refuse or remove material that we believe is unlawful, inaccurate, or harmful.

Intellectual property

The Yusr Relief name, motto, logo, Site design, and original content are ours (or used with permission) and protected by applicable intellectual-property law. We and our licensors reserve all rights not expressly granted. You receive a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes in line with these Terms.

Copyright complaints (DMCA)

If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with: a description of the work; where the material appears on the Site; your name, address, phone, and email; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized; a statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act; and your physical or electronic signature. Knowingly misrepresenting infringement can create liability. We may remove material while we review a notice.

Non-discrimination

Yusr Relief does not discriminate in its programs or in use of this Site on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, age, or any status protected by applicable law.

Electronic communications

You agree that we may send notices and other communications about the Site or a gift by email or by posting on the Site, to the extent the law allows. Transactional messages about a donation you made are not optional marketing.

Third-party services

The Site relies on Cloudflare, Vercel, Sanity, Google, Zeffy, and similar providers. Their outages or terms are outside our full control. Links to other sites are not endorsements. We are not responsible for third-party sites. Payment errors caused by Zeffy, Stripe, a bank, or Zelle must also be pursued with that provider. We will reasonably cooperate.

Privacy

How we collect and use information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.

No professional advice

Nothing on the Site is legal, tax, medical, or financial advice.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that campaign descriptions, totals, or timelines are complete or will remain unchanged.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YUSR RELIEF AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM THE SITE, A DONATION, OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THE SITE OR A DONATION IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU DONATED TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, IF THE CLAIM RELATES TO THAT GIFT, OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50). Some places do not allow certain limits; in those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent allowed.

Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Yusr Relief and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and contractors against claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising from your misuse of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of someone else’s rights, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of our principal office, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts in that state, except that we may seek injunctive relief anywhere to protect our name, logo, or the safety of people we serve.

General

You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them in connection with a reorganization or similar event. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Site. They do not create a partnership with you. We may refuse a gift or suspend access if we believe it is required to protect the organization, comply with law, or prevent harm.

We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control (including network outages, payment-processor failures, natural disaster, war, or government action).

Provisions that by their nature should survive (including donations already made, intellectual property, disclaimers, limits of liability, indemnity, and governing law) survive the end of your use of the Site.
